TAKES ALOTTA METAL is a February born 2015 Red Roan son of Metallic Cat. With Dual Pep and Docs Stylish Oak on the dam's side of his papers, TAKES ALOTTA METAL is truly the whole package. He has and will continue to produce a lot of versatile cow horses here in Montana at D & S Cattle Company.

With rich ranching history, D & S Cattle Company is one of Montana's AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeders and all colts produced by multiple sires, including TAKES ALOTTA METAL, are AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge eligible.

D & S Cattle Co. proudly welcomed Takes Alotta Metal to the ranch in 2016 and today, “Ace” is the total package. He competed at the Black Hills Stock Show, and came home the 2023 Ranch Horse Versatility Champion. TAKES ALOTTA METALl was 1st in Herd Work, Reining, Trail, and Confirmation. He was also 2nd in Cow Work and Steer Stopping.

Having had a successful show year in 2020, in spite of the times, he was crowned 2020 AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse High Point Junior Horse Champion and was awarded a saddle at the AQHA World Show in Oklahoma while he was there to compete in June!
He has everything a performance and ranch horse sire should have. Form to function, disposition, conformation, an impeccable pedigree with an outstanding mare line. We are proud of all the accomplishments TAKES ALOTTA METAL has in the arena and are proud to say he is home getting work done on the ranch.

This is one of the crosses we really believe in. One of our favorite mares, a MILLIE N DOCS OAK, crossed on TAKES ALOTTA METAL. This colt is really looking good!

This horse colt's mother is out of the mare referred to as "Fancy" here at the ranch. FANCY JONES (this colt's mother) is the result of a trip to North Platte and a visit to JERRY JONES. We really like this cross and are looking forward to more offspring like this one. He's flashy and athletic, can't wait to see where he goes!

We always look forward to "Frenchy's" foal, she really outdid herself this year with an outstanding filly! Confirmation, color, and disposition, what else do you want! Now is the time to get a great filly as FRENCH SUN FEATHERS, this foal's mother, will be 22 in the spring.

This would be a nice filly for a 4-H project or any other youth or old person project. Nice filly with a good hip and nice attitude. She will have an x on her papers, as does her mother and her grandmother, FRENCH SUN FEATHERS.
This colt's mother sure is a looker and so is the colt. He has an interesting color but is a handsome guy and built right! This is this mare's first offspring, and she's done a great job!

What a great colt for the last hurrah from a great mare. This horse colt is a red roan with a great hip and bright eye, very nice prospect!

The top side of this big, nice horse colt is TAKES ALOTTA METAL, and the top side of his mother's pedigree is MILLIE N DOCS OAK, the maternal of that mare is long ago running blood, we love the cross! This colt's mother is named "Pet" because of her disposition, she always gives us a nice foal, and this year is no exception.
We've had some success stories from this cross. SPLIT OAK puts a little life in them and TAKES ALOTTA METAL's disposition lets you handle that, and it will take you to the pay window. SPLIT OAK is about as good looking as you will find, and she has produced a stand-out filly this year.
Big, beautiful, outstanding filly out of our last BAR O SOMETIMES mare. Travis Nelson was very successful with her full brother at the Big Country Select Horse Sale in Jordan, MT this past June.

This filly is anything but a "Justa" nother filly. Her mother goes by "Good Eye" here at the ranch, she lost an eye about 3 years ago and was referred to the mare with the bad eye, but she was too special to be called that. Every foal she has is impressive, you will like this one even if she is chestnut!
